China and Norway to Strengthen Cooperation on Green Energy, Xi Jinping Says

During a meeting in Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed China's willingness to collaborate with Norway on expanding "friendly" cooperation, particularly in green energy, environmental protection, and other sectors. Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere visited China to discuss potential partnerships in areas such as energy transition, shipping, and electric vehicles, according to China's state broadcaster, CCTV.

President Xi emphasized the importance of working together on environmental initiatives, highlighting China's commitment to peaceful development amidst accelerating global changes. On the Ukraine conflict, Xi urged for dialogue to foster conditions for a political resolution.

Prime Minister Stoere acknowledged China's significant role in the global green transition, stating that climate, sustainable development, business, and human rights were central topics of their discussions.

This visit marks a step forward in fostering stronger ties between the two nations, particularly in the shared pursuit of advancing sustainable energy solutions.
